Loremi Tours

The recently concluded ninth edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE 2025) was truly an experience to remember. Held from 21st to 24th May 2025 at the elegant Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, the event brought together some of the brightest minds and most passionate voices in the travel and tourism industry. At the heart of it all stood Loremi Tours, proudly presenting something both deeply personal and profoundly powerful: The Soul Of Acholi.

Organized annually by the Uganda Tourism Board, POATE is more than just an exhibition, it’s a dynamic marketplace where tourism stakeholders connect, forge partnerships, and celebrate the richness of Uganda through Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) engagements. It’s a celebration of culture, nature, innovation, and sustainability, and for us at Loremi, it’s a platform to bring the rhythm, the stories, and the heartbeat of Acholiland to the world.

This year, our mission remained clear and unwavering: Destination Acholiland.

At our stand, visitors were taken on an immersive cultural journey, an invitation to not just witness, but truly feel Acholi heritage. From the warmth of our Acholi Homestay Experiences to the pulse of traditional dances, the taste of authentic Acholi cuisines, and hands-on craft demonstrations, we painted a vivid picture of a people rich in tradition, welcoming in spirit, and proud of their roots.

And just when we thought the Expo had offered its best, it gave us even more.

Loremi Tours was honored with three prestigious sustainability awards, turning an already remarkable evening into one of celebration and deep gratitude. We were humbled to once again be recognized for our Acholi Homestay and Acholi Experience products, a re-affirmation of our ongoing commitment to responsible, community-based tourism. And then came the cherry on top, a Special Mention for Sustainable Stand – Tour Operator.A brand-new award to our catalogue that energizes our mission and fuels our drive to lead with impact.

To be recognized once again for what we stand for: authenticity, cultural preservation, and sustainability, is not just a victory for Loremi. It is a tribute to the communities we work with and the travelers who walk these paths with us, open-hearted, curious, and respectful of the cultures they engage with.

It’s also an invitation for you to Step off the beaten path and into the heart of Acholiland Where every drumbeat tells a story, and every smile feels like home.Come and discover the soul of Northern Uganda, “Wajoli”
